It looks like Sweden, but Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada, differs from Scandinavia on one significant point: the fishing. Even though it is the same species of salmon we fish for, Nova Scotia is far from what we know from Scandinavia. In Canada the pace of the fishing is much different....
Great fishing, beautiful scenery, and exciting wildlife are common to all Atlantik Travel’s destinations: Nova Scotia is no exception. The angling here is largely traditional fly-fishing, mostly with a floating line. One should not forget, however, that it was on the east coast of Canada that the legendary Lee Wolf developed dry fly-fishing for salmon. As a fly-fisher, hardly anything can compare to the excitement of watching an Atlantic salmon rise to a large dry fly floating on the surface of the river. If that does not get your adrenaline racing, the moment when the salmon takes off on its long first run surely will.
Nova Scotia not only offers salmon fishing; there is also amazing angling for the hard fighting striped bass. Striped bass is just as popular in North American as the sea trout is in Scandinavia. This is not hard to understand since the fish we are talking about is a great fighter. The fishing for striped bass takes place along the coast and on occasion in the rivers. If you do not have the nerve to for the intense salmon and striped bass fishing, during all your stay, it is possible to relax and fish with lighter tackle for the beautiful brook trout and large river trout in the area’s smaller streams.
All fishing takes places on rivers surrounded by mountains and forest. It is also possible to see animals such as racoon, lynx, and the white-headed eagle, which just enhances an already amazing experience.
