Fish Norway's Mayfly hatch from a drift-boat with Charles Jardine
Trysil lies about 200km north-east of Oslo, and it is here that you can enjoy some of the best grayling fishing imaginable. The date has been carefully selected to optimise the finest fishing Trysil has to offer, by coinciding with the famed E. danica (Mayfly) hatch. In addition you will be amongst the very first anglers to fish the river from a drift boat (USA style).
Given Normal circumstances, this period will be the peak of the hatch and you will encounter plenty of big fish rising in the river. Catching them? That's up to you...
The grayling vary from 30cm up to the 50cm mark and they occur alongside whitefish which are normally between 40cm and 60cm. In other words, everything is set to give you the best chance of an exceptional fishing holiday and one certainly way out of the ordinary.
You will experience two days fishing from the camp's new drift boats, with Charles and Call of the Wild's head guide Espen Eilertsen on the oars, plus four days of walk-and-wade (one guide to four anglers). Depending on the conditions, you will also have a chance to float-tube on some of the many lakes around Trysil.
Charles will also hold fly tying and fly casting sessions to fit in with the fishing schedule.
You will be staying at Trysil Hyttegrend/Trysil fishing centre, and the whole hostel will be at the groups disposal. Clients will be accommodated in single rooms, and breakfast and dinner will be served in the lodge's central area.
ITINERARY
June 26, 2010: Fly London Heathrow to Olso. Transfer to Trysil camp.
June 27 - July 2: Six days guided fishing (two from a drift boat): 2 meals per day plus a packed lunch, based at Trysil fishing centre. Fly-tying sessions with Charles Jardine at times to suit.
July 3: Transfer to Oslo for flight to London Heathrow.
Price per person: £1,495 (maximum group size 8 anglers)
