Trout and Grayling fishing in Norway

Trysil

Superb dry fly fishing for grayling and trout! Trysil is the perfect place to combine great fishing with a super outdoors family holiday.

The angling focuses on the River Trysil itself, but it is also possible to fish in the area's many lakes and small streams. You can fish from the shore or from the rowing boats that are provided for guests to use, free of charge. What's more, all of this is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Norway.

Accommodation

We stay in the "Trysil Hyttegrend" (see www.trysilhytte.com), at Øråneset on the banks of the river. Trysil Hyttegrend delivers a standard of service way above that you would normally expect to find at this price level.

Their cosy huts are well equipped and include a kitchen, stove and television.

Family Holidays.

Trysil is the perfect place to combine fishing with a outdoors family holiday.

Kids - as well as the grown-ups - can enjoy hiking, sailing and fishing in each others company in exciting, and safe, surroundings.

The area is truely beautiful, surrounded by forests and mountains, not to mention the River Trysil itself.

Call of the Wild.

Trysil offers a wealth of possibilities for the angler. Your angling permit not only allows you to fish in the river, but also gives access to fishing in many of the lakes and streams in the area. Many of these spots rarely, if ever, see anglers. Therefore you can be sure that many surpries, in the form of big grayling and trout, wait in store for the fisherman who is prepared to walk that little bit further than the most.

To make the most of your time fishing the river it is now possible to use the services of the guiding company "Call of the Wild" (www.callofthewild.no). Atlantik and Call of the Wild work in partnership to offer guided fishing tours on the Trysil and other river in the area using their specially designed drift boats.

Angling Centre Trysil

In partnership with Trysil Hyttegrend and Call of the Wild we can offer a complete package including accommodation, fishing, guide service, boat/engine hire and tuition (fly casting, fly tying etc.).

All guests can also take part in the "Angling Café" where in addition to getting alot of practical information about the best places to fish and which techniques to use in the trysil region, it is also possible to meet some of the personalites who have made their mark in today's angling scene.

For example, during 2009 the Angling Café featured guests such as Ari T Hart, the developer of the ATH series of fly reels and Matt Hayes from the Discovery Channel.

Season 2010

Following the seucesses of the previous few seasons we will again be offering bus tours from Denmark to Trysil in weeks 27 & 35. These tours are arranged in partnership with Hvidovre Sport and places can be booked through them (www.hvidovresport.dk).

Additionally we would be very happy to put together individual packages for 2, 4, 6 or more people. The focus tends to be fly-fishing - especially dry fly - but all anglers are welcome and it is definately allowed to spin fish on the Trysil.

We strongly recommend that you "invest" in some guiding, as it will help optimize your time spent on the river and pay dividends in the numbers of fish you catch. The guides know precisely where the fish can be found in all river conditions and so give you many more chances or hooking-up.

To hear more about the guiding call Espen on 0047 404 15 677 or drop him a line on info@callofthewild.no.

Bus Tour: week 27 - 2010:
